I have spent nearly 25 years researching the genealogy of our family, primarily from the perspective of my son, Joshua. His family, from both his mother's and my line, includes a wide variety of distinguished individuals. Rich in Texas, Pennsylvania, U.S. and World history, our surnames include notably Gaines, Maverick, Bomba, Grice, Bonsal, Pennypacker, Peppel, Swier, Stoy, Place, Houston, Kennedy and many others. The Definers of My Family
The process of compiling this record aroused a multitude of phantasms. More times than I can remember, I found myself spellbound in who my ancestors were and how they lived. I marveled at the notion that the way they lived their lives and the decisions they made (from the monumental to the inconsequential), directly determined the person I am today, who my children will be tomorrow, and how society will be defined for generations to come. Transcribing the names of thousands of family members, I got the spiritual sense that I was able to participate in their lives by thinking about them in mine.
